Six Flags Trip
Ever since the Six Flags trip was mentioned, Penny had incessantly nagged me to sit next to her on the bus. Reluctantly appeasing her wishes for some reason even unknown to myself, I would jokingly say “fine, you can be my pillow for the two hour trip… oh yeah, and by the way, I have a sever case off mouth droolage…” in the hopes that she would give up her useless vendetta. The day of the trip, it rained, hard. I walked, ran, to the school to catch the bus. And I lived far away from that wretched building that claimed to be a school. Just in time to make the bus but not so late enough to find that she had found a bus-buddy. The only seats she could save for “us”; all the way in the back, next to the toilet.
It was not as painful as I thought it would be; sitting next to the girl I had been pining for all year long. She was always smiling next to me, laughing, and making awkward conversation, it’s what I like about her most. I liked her, too much. The whole day was filled with laughing and screaming on rides where she just happened to keep sitting next to me. Everyone knew we liked each other, and so did we. But the day ended like any other one with her in it; without her.
