Dying industries

I read the article about the dying industries. It said that The Los Angeles-based market research firm has identified 10 industries that will continue to decline even after the rest of the U.S. economy recovers — and that may go under altogether. The “dying industries” list: wired telecommunications carriers; mills; newspaper publishing; apparel manufacturing; DVD, game and video rental; video postproduction services and formal wear and costume rental. Notably absent are bookstores, whose numbers don’t yet support a spot on the list.

People do not subscribe the newspaper anymore because they can read the articles through the Internet website or smart phone. They do not have time to look thought the whole newspaper in their lives. In addition, people do not rent the DVD anymore. They can download the movies which is much cheaper. The industries have been changed so fast, so companies have to penetrate the niche market to attract the people again.
