I'm almost certain that at some point in life we heard the laws three strike rule but also heard the phrase "third times a charm". When examining the ideology behind both you can possibly find a discrepancy between law and state. One seems to say that when given a third try people make get things right or do them correctly, the other says that a third offense lands you in jail for life. I personally feel that the law conflicts with many of life's ideologies but given your interpretation of three strikes it could mean the exact same thing as third times a charm.
When you think of the two sayings they sound very similar but seem to convey two separate meanings. After thinking it over I personally believe they say the same thing. In the three strike rule you are sent to jail once and released thus getting a first strike. When a criminal is sent to jail again there has been another strike added on and there is a 2nd release from jail. In the event the criminal heads to jail he will get a third strike and end up in jail for life. What needs to be noted is that before that third strike can be gotten there also an opportunity to avoid getting that third strike and it is that opportunity that is "the charm". Its the realization before even gaining any strike we are all given the opportunity to achieve and make good on life and that is essentially your first try. The 2nd try comes after a first being released from the first offense, and the third try comes after the being released from 2nd offense, this is turn sets the stage for "three times a charm".
In life we all begin with a clean slate and its essential that we know this. Its even more important that we understand that our life's opportunities shouldn't be taken for granted and pushed to brink of failure whether be law related or life related.
