BLOG POST #21- Facebook Education Grant

Dear (Name):

I am seeking support of $5,000 from your foundation for general support for the induction and integration of scholastic and educational materials on social media websites. Students in elementary school, middle school, high school and college are all connected through various social media sites. More than 1.5 million local businesses have Facebook pages. Facebook has over 400 million active users, with over 50% of those users spending over an hour of their time logged in every day. There are over 500,000 active applications available on Facebook, including various games and recreational activities. In fact, Texas Hold’em and Mafia Wars are two games falling into the top 3 most liked Facebook pages in existence. With so much daily activity and even more weekly activity on social networking and social media sites such as Facebook, there is no better time than now to bring education into the mix.

This project is very much aligned with your goals of social networking while it will allow me to provide students of all ages in communities across the globe with fast and easy educational services. Educational topics ranging from history to mathematics could be implemented and further services such as digital tutoring and digital study groups may be added. Social networking sites like Facebook will be adding a brand new dimension. Not only will they be the hot spots for communicating with friends, sharing photos and videos, and playing games, as they are now, but they will also be the place to go for homework, tutoring and learning!

Sincerely,

Aaron D. Neufeld

This was the original message I decided to send out before making a documentary video putting this into a visual promotion.
