the big dance

So for the past few weeks, I've really been watching a lot of college basketball. It's kind of weird for me because I've never really been into college basketball before. But it's kind of exiting actually. I've always been into basketball in general which probably makes the transition into a college basketball fan an easy one. I love watching professional basketball, and I play basketball for fun all the time, whether that involves intramural sports or recreation at the park.

Back to college basketball; I've went to a couple of Stony Brook's games this past season. They were an okay team, nothing great, but the games were just fun to go to. I starting following them after last year when they played Illinois in the NIT tournament and the arena in the sports complex was crazy. They actually had a game today, and lost to Boson University. I didn't know how much I really actually cared to watch them play until they lost today and I was genuinely sad for them. (tough loss as they say in sports)

So stony brook is not going to be making it to the NCAA tournament this year (aka the dance). But that doesn't mean that I wont be watching. There's plenty of other fun teams to watch. For example, I have a friend that goes to Syracuse and loves them to death. Because of his undeniable love for them, I've actually grown to not like them at all. (probably because he always rants about them) So I have a team to root against. I dont really have a favorite team. I probably will be rooting most for St. Johns because they're from Queens, and was close to where I grew up. So all in all, it's going to be a pretty exiting March. (March Madness!!!!!!!)
