The Modern Roman Catholic Church.

My religion is roman catholic. On occasion I will attend sunday mass with my mother, but i mainly go on holidays. I am what people call the "twice a year" catholic, referring to christmas and easter. Well, I can totally see why? The last time I went to church, which was last weekend, they were basically talking about how important it is to go to church, and for us to convince others to go to church. What's with the shameless plug during sunday mass. They talk about whats going on, how we can donate and how we can get others involved. I already have two jobs, is there any place left where you can just go and not be hawked to do something?

Home

He turned the knob and pushed open the door. A breeze came from his back and pushed in some leaves from the porch. He took his first steps into his new house, took a moment to take it all in. He took a deep breath and started to grin. He finally did it, what he was always striving for, a home to call his own. It might not seem like that great a deal to anybody else but he was different. From the age of 15 he lived on the streets, abandoned by his mother and father left to fend for himself. He was a victim like so many others in this world. He worked hard for everything and earned everything he had. Nothing came easy to him but he liked it that way. He loved the feeling of having something that he had worked so hard for. And the ultimate goal was having a place to call home again, his own place. People who handed everything in life miss out on the feeling you get when you finally reach a goal with your own hard work and effort. He was fortunate enough to know this joy. When he was 18 years old he started working and never looked back. He knew that this was the only way to get out of this hell hole is was plunged into. He had gone through a great deal a pain throughout his life and to reach this moment in his life was bliss. Tears started flowing down from his eyes as he fell to his knees. He did it, he finally did it.

Sex before marriage?

The marriage certificate of Minati Khatua and Sitakant Routray

I am not telling anyone to have sex before marriage. Maybe I am just stating beware of the golddiggers? I am just going to paste this little news article I happen to come across. I thought you guys might enjoy the strange but true. I would personally die of mortification if this happened to me before I let it reach the world news.

4:46PM GMT 22 Dec 2010
For six months, Minati Khatua, 27, from Rourkela, Orissa, India, was told by her husband, who gave the name Sitakant Routray, that they could not consumate their marriage because "he" was observing a religious ritual.
She allegedly discovered her husband's secret when walking in on her spouse in the bath.
"I thought he was devout and respectful of me. But when I walked into the bathroom there was no mistaking that my husband was 100 per cent a woman," she told police, who have launched a fraud investigation. The husband has since disappeared.
Police believe the groom may have posed as a man to take advantage of the dowry that is traditionally presented upon marriage. The dowry reportedly included a car, gold ornaments and some £350 in cash.

the big dance

So for the past few weeks, I've really been watching a lot of college basketball. It's kind of weird for me because I've never really been into college basketball before. But it's kind of exiting actually. I've always been into basketball in general which probably makes the transition into a college basketball fan an easy one. I love watching professional basketball, and I play basketball for fun all the time, whether that involves intramural sports or recreation at the park.

Back to college basketball; I've went to a couple of Stony Brook's games this past season. They were an okay team, nothing great, but the games were just fun to go to. I starting following them after last year when they played Illinois in the NIT tournament and the arena in the sports complex was crazy. They actually had a game today, and lost to Boson University. I didn't know how much I really actually cared to watch them play until they lost today and I was genuinely sad for them. (tough loss as they say in sports)

So stony brook is not going to be making it to the NCAA tournament this year (aka the dance). But that doesn't mean that I wont be watching. There's plenty of other fun teams to watch. For example, I have a friend that goes to Syracuse and loves them to death. Because of his undeniable love for them, I've actually grown to not like them at all. (probably because he always rants about them) So I have a team to root against. I dont really have a favorite team. I probably will be rooting most for St. Johns because they're from Queens, and was close to where I grew up. So all in all, it's going to be a pretty exiting March. (March Madness!!!!!!!)
