Bartenders Ripping You Off
I've been going to bars for years and every bar is different. Im in the middle of getting my bartending license and its a real eye opener. My current office job sucks and I needed somthing fun and exciting to do so I decided to become a bartender. I cannot even stand thinking about getting a drink out anymore after you learn all of the crap that goes on behind the bar. Years ago, bartenders made the drinks underneath the counter and therefore were able to get away with giving you cheap liquor or even slipping you drugs. Now it is the law to make the drink in front of the customer. However, its not as clean as you think it is! The cleaning products are filthy and bartenders are expected to do certain "tricks" to basically rip you off. I never realized half of the things until I went to Bartenders Academy. Now whenever I go out I notice so many little things that I havn't ever realized and quite frankly its absolutely disgusting.
Everyone obviously knows that you spend way more than it cost the owner for the drinks. Going out and having drinks and dancing is all about socializing. Clubbing is so overrated. Places charge you rediculous cover charges just to get in and then serve you watered down expensive drinks. You have to find the right places to go out for real cocktails. The most important thing is to be specific on what you want to drink and watch the bartender otherwise you never know what you're getting.
