BLOG POST #10- Bug Out Bag
What would I take with me if the world were coming to an end? If I had only days, hours or even minutes to grab what is important to me to survive physically and mentally too, what would it be? The world is ending and I have got to go! What’s coming with me?
There are the obvious items—food, water, medications, etc. You know, all the basics to help you continue to live. But to live is not only to remain alive. To live also means to spend one’s life in a particular way or under particular circumstances. How could you continue to live without love and care in your life. What would be the point in living? If I had to grab and go, I’d take memories with me. Some may totally disagree, saying that memories are one of the few things to leave behind. But to me, love is essential to living happily. Some may say during the Armageddon, you don’t need to live happy; you just need to live. However, without happiness, health declines and leads to death. So happiness is more essential in the big picture than many may think. I’d take photos and a camera, an ipod, batteries, etc.—things to keep me entertained and happy.
Additionally, I’d bring all weather clothes for any circumstance. No laptop though. As much as it does for me now, once that battery dies, it will be useless. Technology will be one of the first to go—so I’d have to plan around digital technology with ways how to make me happy and keep me safe once the world goes dark.
