Most people look for breaks during a school year and spring break would be the most anticipated one. It is almost like summer vacation due to the illusion of the nice and warm weather but the disappointment would be the vacation is only one week long.

I was pretty disappointed in the fact that our, Stony Brook’s, spring break is on the third week of an April; while other schools are around the month of March. Most of my friends are on their breaks right now and I am unhappy since I am unable to see or hang out with them. But on the brighter side, most of my friends want to visit the campus and see my life here. I told most of them it is not as glamorous as they think it would be and hopefully after their visit they could understand why. Maybe it is because I am dorm while they commute to their schools.

The only disadvantage of having a spring break during April is that all the midterms are crammed into one or two weeks before the vacation. The advantage of it is that the week that we come back on does not include any midterms we are required to study for during our break. Another advantage is that the vacation makes an illusion that the term ends quicker since finals week is right around the corner.
