Off Campus
I’ve recently been considering whether to move off campus with a couple of friends and the idea is enticing, but the only problem is that I don’t have a car. When I started discussing the possibility with my current suitemates, who are also the people that I would move into, I tried to push aside the car problem, but as the dates for choosing campus housing approaches, more negative of moving off campus keep coming to mind. I’ve lived off campus before when I lived in Texas and had a car and I loved it. I loved having a full kitchen that I could use whenever, and it wasn’t disgusting like the common kitchens that are available on campus. But the lack of transportation, I know, will become a problem for me. The house is walking distance from the South P lot, but I know that apart from for my classes, I’m not going to want to be walking that for my meetings on campus, to go to the gym, or to simply have a lunch date with someone on campus. I want to live in the house because I don’t want to miss out on the fun things that I know will be going on, but at the same time I feel like I will miss out on more if I moved off campus.
