Strange People on Train

Riding on the train in New York City is a good way to get around. However, sometimes you get some strange person that gets on the train and starts singing out of nowhere. This probably has happened to some of you at least once. I recall getting on the train in Manhattan and some woman just came in and started to talk about Jesus and God. After she finished talking she started to sing and not offense the singing was not good but she still sang for a couple of stops. At the time, she was singing the car that she was in was quiet. Obviously, some people could not help but to stare at her like she was crazy, and some other people like me just looked away and pretended to mind our own business.

Just recently, my friend was on the train and this homeless man went up to her a started to talk to her. She was just sitting there trying to get some sleep. The man walks up to her rambling on about things. She was confused and did not know what to say, but just nodded her head. She told me that she was hoping the man would get off at the next stop every time the train approached a station. When the man did eventually get off the train she laughed about the event because she felt so awkward because people were not only staring at the man but her as well.

What are we suppose to do in situations like these? I know some people like tourists stare with amazement. Not only tourists but some people that do regularly commute on the with the subway still find these events interesting and have a good laugh about it. While others just try to act like nothing is happening and go on with their business. I guess these strange moments are unavoidable when you are on the train.
