BLOG POST #5- COS- Grant Proposal Practice
February 17th, 2011
NWC, North Woodmere, NY
Dear Mr. Man,
The NWC (North Woodmere Crew) seeks support of $5,000 from the Jewish Youth Foundation for general support, project support, publications and advertising support, as well as membership incentives for our NWC Youth Onegs. These Onegs are gatherings for the youth of the North Woodmere community held on the Friday night Sabbath. These gatherings bring the youth of the community together, allowing them to bond, and work together through conversations, games and thoughtful discussion to grow and flourish in the hopes that they will become future leaders, while the meanwhile keeping these children and teens off of the streets and away from negative influences.
We are grateful for the support we received from the Jewish Youth Foundation in 2005 for the various holiday programming for the synagogue and we believe this new proposal may be of comparable interest to your foundation. We believe this project is very much aligned with the Jewish Youth Foundation in its goals, projects and guideline statement.
Our organization, established in January of 2010, is serving the local community with our services: Youth-run synagogue services, neighborhood-babysitting services, visitations to the sick and elderly, youth group projects to assist the needy, etc. We were recently praised for our work and our growing membership, up over 300% in 2011 from membership in 2010.
The project for which we request funds will make a difference in the lives of both the children and teens in attendance and running the youth-gatherings (Onegs) as well as their families and in the big picture, the lives of the elderly, sickly, poverty-stricken and many others after the project is sure to inspire further action from the youth.
The project will take approximately one year to get off the ground with large developments within the next three years and will require $5,000 in order to achieve the results we are expecting.
We invite you to visit the project, as we do all NWC Honorary Members, and we will assist you in arranging your visit.
Sincerely,
Aaron D. Neufeld, 481-516-2342
