The concept behind this stage is a combination of recollections of childhood visits to the South Street Seaport and also the Intrepid Museum. Now that I'm older I realize that when visiting these places there was so much history and so many stories behind the ships. For that reason I figured a stage set on a ship would be very nostalgic and set a very good mood for suspended disbelief. I think it'd also be very interesting to see a performance on a ship that is docked in water, but still made steady enough to perform on.
