Living in NYC

Professor Baldwin brings up the fact that he is from rural Minnesota very often, just about every class. Coming from there he mentions that NY is the place to be. So many things to do here. But me being a native of Queens, living my whole life here, I understand that this is a great place to live but I would say I take living here for granted. I don't exactly share the same enthusiasm as he does. I often find myself wondering what it would be like to move away. To some place like california or even abroad somewhere.
I don't exactly spend my nights painting the town red but I've done my fair share of exploring this great city. After awhile the excitement you used to have just isn't there anymore. And its not like I haven't done any traveling either. I've been to places that are very different from here and coming home is always great but I feel like I need to actually live someplace else. Get out of my comfort zone as professor baldwin likes to say. Have something to contrast against and get far away from a helping hand to fall back on.
Traveling the world has always been a goal for me, and after college I will definitely start to pursue it. I got family I could visit in London, from there check out paris, find my way to Italy. Start to get a sense of what the world is really like. Check out the cultural differences up close rather than watch a skewed portrayal on the news. Time to start counting the days.
