How many people, actually how many kids have iPods these days, or mp3 players? Probably like nine or ten out of ten. Now looking at the kids who have iPods, how many of them are first, second or event third generation? Right now they are in the sixth or seventh generation of iPods. And how many of those kids with iPods probably had an older version previously? The point I am trying to make is that Apple is smart. Every year they make a new generation, and all the fan boys jump on those immediately, and people with outdated ones want a new one. I admit I bought an iPod video, then two or three years later I bought an iPod touch, because I wanted the next big thing, even though my old iPod worked fine. This idea of keeping up with the Jones’ not only applies to iPods, but most technology in general, every year or two there is the new greatest thing, and you buy it, then two years later you might buy something that is more new than what you had because it has better specifications and/ or is cheaper. Why do we do this? We need to learn to control our urges, good things come to those who wait, just remember that.
