Hustling for... Grants?

Dear Sir or Madam,

I’m Kenneth Ho, a research assistant at Stony Brook University in Long Island, NY. I’m looking to explore ways that traditional media is currently supplanted by the emergence of social media. Furthermore, social media will continue to influence and affect the way traditional media operates into the future. Social media has burgeoned into a remarkable source of news and even eclipses previous media outlets in its ability to rapidly share ideas.

Social media outlets such as Facebook are pervasive, and accessed multiple times daily, and it will become increasingly important for your company to keep in the a close eye on the development of social media and adapt your corporate structure to better serve the needs of our audiences. I’d like to pursue this research, considering the limited resources we have at the Statesman, I would like to propose a joint research project with ______ to better understand the ever-changing environment our publications exist in.

To pursue a 3-week-long study of the social media environment in which time I will consult social media colleagues I’ve had the opportunity to hook up with in my time in social media marketing in New York City such as Oz Sultan, a strategy and marketing consultant who’s developed the social media programme at The Economist and Israel Mirsky, the EVP of Emerging Media and Technology at Porter Novelli. Through such discussions, I will develop an executable plan for ______, outlining and forecasting imminent and upcoming changes in social media in addition to recommendations to approaches maximizing the integration of social media into the approach we can utilize to again; better serve our audiences.
