Constantly debated and discussed, health care has become one of the largest growing issues this country has ever faced. Recent studies have shown that approximately 50,000 deaths are due to no health insurance each year with millions of deaths being related to inefficient or little health care. However, the biggest problem is not that we don’t have the technology; rather that people are not being allowed access to the technology and medicine if they have bad health coverage.
Medical care is becoming the center of our lives. We need it almost as much as we need food and water. So as our lives progress, so do our bodies and our bodies need to be healthy. However without health, death is the next closest option. This encompasses the issue of the elderly and how more and more of them are dying because of poor health coverage. These are the kinds of people that put in their time in the working world and expect something in return; health care. Many people are continuing to work into their elderly years and loosing valuable health benefits. Then when they become ill and cannot work anymore, they also lose their health benefits and more importantly their life.
The issue of health care is devastating; threatening the lives of millions. As a result, the government has been working for years to reach this state of a "universal healthcare." Personally, i completely disagree...for 2 reasons. One, it’s too similar to the system of food stamps where people who cannot provide for their families get aid from the government leaving taxpayers to pay for their issues. Two, the height of the medical progression will slow with doctors and researchers who have no insensitive to go into the medical field.
As a result of the ongoing fight between government and the people, health care is more widely known as a Health scare. As we approach our older years, we become less satisfied with life and more projected on how we are going to survive. It just goes to show how delicate the human body is and how susceptible it can be. One small bug can take away your whole life in the blink of an eye and the only thing stoping it is the power of health care.
