Do you ever catch yourself singing a tune from a commerical in the middle of the day? These tunes are built to be catchy. We are told what to eat, what to buy, where to shop, how to be through the media. In Consumer America these thoughts are forced upon us.
Do we really need a computer, an ipod touch, a Kindle, nook, a Mini-laptop, a blackberry, and ipad? Most of these things that I have currently charging. I look at these items, the money spent.. I'm insane. Not to mention my laptop can perform all these duties, so in essence I don't need any of them.
Why? why are we so stressed to have all these items. We feel incomplete if we don't have all the items that make life easier to socialize. I can twitter with five different electronics in my room. I know I am not the only person buying these items. It is like we need these items to be connected but really? are we socializing? we are losing face to face contact. FACETIME is gone. We are just droids behind a screen.
