Why is it wherever I go, people just don't have any manners? I'm not talking about being old school and all, just a thank you here and there would be nice. Why do people have to run through doors and never hold them, or vice versa, when you hold the door for someone they can't even say two words, Thank You. Also, how far away does the person have to be back that you don't have to hold the door for them? Holding doors becomes such a game between people. If you are directly behind someone than they don't even consider it a favor that you just held the door for them but they expect it. On the other hand, should you hold the door for someone if they're a certain distance away? Where is the line? What if there is more than one door in a row? Should you have to say "Thank You" every time? Or should you throw a "Thanks" in there? Holding doors is such an unknown answer and makes for such awkward situations.
The one time I wouldn't want someone to hold the door for me is getting into a car. I think that is really old school and is such a waste of time. Plus if it's cold outside, then I have to wait for them to walk all the way around the car and get in to start the heat. Another thing, what do I do when I'm sitting there waiting for them to walk around and get in, what a waste of time! I am more than capable of opening and closing the door to get into the car, so guys, don't waste your time.
