BLOG POST #13- Making Impressions (Clothing, Attitude, etc.)
It is essential to make an impression on those around you. Some people get all dressed up in a suit and tie when it comes time to head to work or when they are going to be interviewed for a new job. These same people may head to class in college wearing a t-shirt and pajama pants. They dress down when they can, and they dress up when it counts.
What these people don’t realize is that how you dress and act is always important. If someone comes to class dressed in pajama pants and with a lax attitude, texting, drawing, and not engaging with the class, he or she is making a negative impression. Although it may seem that going to class well dressed and well behaved may not be of the most importance and instead save the charm and good looks for the business world. But class and the casual world may be where this actually matters most!
Class and the casual world is where you spend the most time and make the biggest impressions. If you sell yourself in the casual world, you will be more likely to impress someone which may very well lead you to a job in the business world. The two are connected and rely on each other. You should dress to impress and act the way you would in the workplace, all the time. You should always be thinking about your future and trying to impress all those around you because you never know when you are going to make a connection.
