Why is there so little time to complete required assignments but have so much time when it is something you don’t want to do? I’m pretty sure I’m not the only one asking this question to the father of time and space. We like to put off things to the very last minute, which in effect leads to frustrations, lack of sleep, and being very moody the next day.
I am involved in three different activities – academics, recreation, and work, each taking up a considerable amount of time that I wish I had more of. One of my classes is Japanese, which takes up much of the available time I have left over after classes, work, and club meetings since I have quizzes 3 times a week (in the morning) and memorizing a lot of vocabulary and kanji is time consuming. Along with my general classes, I’m interning on campus 12 hours a week doing assignments that are opposite of what I’m assigned in class. In my internship, I created a lot of different flyers and sometimes spend the whole day trying to think of the layout and taking that work back to my room to finish it. Finally, I’m part of the archery club and have our meetings and practice in the evenings, which I sometimes don’t get back to my room till 10:30pm and still have to cook, shower, and study. If you combine all that together, I can pass out at any time of the day because I have such a wide range of activities.
In the end, I can barely stay awake to enjoy doing stuff I want to do. It would be nice if somehow there was a section of time where it is only to sleep and any other activities are forbidden to enter into that time zone. Or we can always develop a mini time machine and will let you go back a max of 5 hours that way the flow of time will not be altered too much. I hope…
