boxing days
I was going through my pictures on my computer, just trying to organize some things and I came across the picture above. It really got me thinking about the junior high school days. It's not something that you really think about everyday. Usually when people reflect back to their younger days, its either elementary school because that was a really long time ago, or its high school because thats where most of us were before college. But this picture had me thinking about the days in between those; junior high.
I actually still remember when this picture was taken. It was during the summer of 2003 if my memory serves me right. I believe that that would make me 14 at the moment. "Wow, time really flies" is what was going through my mind when looking at that picture. During that summer, my friends and I used to have these boxing matches at one of my friends house. His mom was never home during the day so no one besides us really knew what went on; I'm pretty sure that his mom wouldn't be too happy about us having boxing matches in her living room.
But yea, with regards to that picture above, I'm the one who is about to knock out my friend. I remember knocking him out pretty badly that day. He ended up pretty beat up by the end of that match. But it's not as bad as I'm probably making it sound. I'm not sure how visible it is in the picture, but the gloves we used to box were more like pillows wrapped in leather than boxing gloves. So as much as we tried to beat each other up, it really wasnt that violent at all. It was all in good fun. Good times.
