riding a bike without brakes is scary, but the sense of freedom that comes with it is worth the risk.
it may seem counter-intuitive, but somehow taking the brake off your fixed gear bike helps you feel more in control. it forces you to be more alert because it takes longer to stop.
a brakeless fixed gear brings back the simplicity of a bicycle. one develops a relationship with the bike and a feel for the road that no freewheel bike can duplicate.
