This film was shot at Welwyn Preserve in Glen Cove, the town I grew up in. It's a bit of a personal piece to me, as the location holds many memories. Good memories at Welwyn include nights spent with booze and bonfires or running through the park and burnt down mansion with paintball guns and spraypaint. But at the same time, the place encampasses painful memories I've spent years trying to supress. Leaving high school a year early to escape from the people and memories I no longer wanted a part of, returning to this locations brought back a spur of emotions. It felt surreal, almost dream-like. So familiar, yet so foreign. Home no longer feels like home. It reassured me that I need to keep moving forward.
