The weather's finally coming around.
Well then so is racing season, and I've got to get ready for another 15k. Shouldn't be too much of a bother, and I don't have much time to dedicate to training. The more time I spend looking at the sheer work that goes into the training for competitive endurance-type sports, the more I admire the drive and determination that some people simply possess that others don't. The marathon is an distance I've always dreamed of covering. I've dreamed of coming through Central Park to the finish line. What I cannot imagine is doing so after a 2-mile swim and 112 miles in the saddle. The heart and guts of the men and women who undertake the Ironman distance of the triathlon is something truly to be admired. Think about it next time you hit the gym or complain about your run.
