arrival and departure

What is that meaning of "arrival" and "departure"?
When I think about those words, I can imagine about "try to find something new".

When we go to airport, there is the sign of "arrival" and "departure".
Going to the other country means that we can see and find something new, and the things stimulate to our ordinary life.

However, "finding something new" is not so difficult thing. We can get some new information from daily life.
For example, recently the weather is getting warmer, so it's starting melting snow. From that point, we can feel "spring has come!!".

Therefore, I think that we have "arrival" and "departure" in our daily life.
