I just a saw the verizon iphone commercial during the Super Bowl. And did some research about it. It's not the phone, what they're portraying it to be. There are a lot of factors, which makes this phone, from my point of view, not any better than the AT&T's Iphone 4. Probably a degrade of that of AT&T's Iphone.
First of all, i need to make that clear that this Verizon Iphone is NOT an Iphone 4G, but the same Iphone 4 as that of AT&T's. Secondly, it is a phone that uses only a CDMA ( Code Division Multiple Action) channel access technology. Not the same as the regular Iphone 4 with AT&T, which is powered by GSM (Global System for Mobile Communications). I know, you're probably like, "What in the world is this guy talking about?". Well, let me clear that up for you. A CDMA powered phone is designed to be used only on a single network. And a GSM powered phone can be used on any network in the world that provides GSM powered channels.I know what you're thinking right now. That this phone is not worth the investment from its network flexibility point of view. One last biggest con for the Verizon Iphone 4 being on a CDMA network is that, this phone is not capable of recieving any text messages or emails or any other notifications while talking on the phone.
Iphone is an amazing phone. It is considered a bench mark for all the phones. Every smartphone in the market is compared to the Iphone. It has over 400,000 applications. And has achieved a milestone for 1 billion application downloads so far. But a phone with a lot of the pros and with a major con, which is of non-flexibility of using it around the world and on different networks, and its lack of ability to multi task on the network, makes this phone less attractive. Especially for frequent travelers.
