I think that relationships have been taken to a different level within the past decade. In my opinion, a relationship should be between two people and the public should not know every detail of it. What makes a relationship special is that there is mystery and secrets that only those two people share. The media has drastically changed this. It is easy to find out what people are doing and thinking via the internet. Facebook is one of the worst spaces for couples. It causes them to spy on each other and tempt them to know everything the other person is doing. It's rediculous that such little things that happen on facebook can blow up into an argument, not just with couples but with friends and family as well.
Basically, if you don't want the world to know your business, then don't put it on facebook or the internet where everyone can access it. For the most part, almost all of the problems I hear from friends stories about their problematic relationships start from facebook. Society has accepted the fact that it is okay to do things such as breaking up via the internet or text. Honestly, I think that is completely fine because there is no difference if you have a fight and then break up over a text message. If you both obviously don't care to see each other than why should you go out of your way just to meet face to face to tell each other you both never want to see each other again?
Everyone has their own opinion on what a perfect relationship is based on their own wants and experiences. If everyone was the same then there would be no diversity and people would be boring. People become interested in other people because of their differences. Its human nature to be curious. However, I also think that you need to have something in common with someone as well. Many people begin relationships with each other over the fact that they have something in common.
Although there are many people in the world that have exclusive online relationships and never physically meet, I believe that in order for a true relationship to develop you need to share physical experiences. You learn alot about people by the way they act. I really believe you get to see how someone really is by traveling with them. By doing things with each other you can connect on a different level than just talking on an online chat.
