BLOG POST #26- Dream Video... Almost
I tried multiple times on various formats to post my dream video but technical difficulties have prevented me from doing so. Instead I will blog about it. Basically, I’ve been keeping a dream log for three years now, since 2009. Ever since I took a psychology course in which I learned about dreaming, I learned that if you wake up in the middle of the night with the dream still in your heard, quickly grab a pen and jot down what you remember. Then when you wake up in the morning, you will remember your dream much easier and if you don’t, then reading what you wrote can trigger your memories of the dream. The dream log has been amazing for me and I have actually inspired many of my friends to do the same by keeping their own dream logs.
When you reflect on your dream log and look back months and years later, sometimes you can remember the dream vividly, but for some, I have zero recollection of the dream at all. However, in that case, it is still tremendously fun to read the script my subconscious mind wrote a few years earlier. You are the audience to your brain’s own film. It’s simply awesome. Your dreams also reflect the people who were important to you and prominent to you in your life at the time, so it is interesting to observe how that changes over time.
When we were given this assignment to record ourselves as soon as we woke up from a dream and to describe it, I was thrilled. The only thing is, on the next few nights, I couldn’t remember any of my dreams! I can only write them down if I remember them. So it was bad timing for me to go on a streak of not being able to remember my dreams but therefore I decided to talk about how I would normally deal with waking up with a dream in mind, and this is it! Dream logs! Start one yourself! You will never regret it.
