BLOG POST #43- Cutters and Self Inflictors

I have friends who cut themselves. I’ll never understand them. They come from troubled homes sometimes. Some of them are adopted. But I still will never see a good reason for them to cut themselves. There are so many other outlets than for someone to cut themselves. And people don’t realize that they have friends who care about them who they can use to vent to instead of taking it out on themselves by cutting. It’s dangerous and not smart.

I’m surprised that at this stage, people still continue to harm themselves instead of seeking other ways to help themselves. Why cut yourself, or take up smoking cigarettes, or drinking, when everyone knows these things are incredibly unhealthy and can kill you? Try talking to someone or partaking in other activities that can make you feel better without putting yourself in danger.

I think that these are easy ways out and the people that do them are weak. They aren’t in tune with their emotions and underrate other people who can help them in a myriad of different ways. It is important for awareness to be spread so that these people know that they have places to turn to. Because instead of always turning to others, they most often turn on themselves.
