Respect The Mind

I just recently recalled hearing the notion that isn't any person we should fear, its their thoughts that we fear. A persons thoughts are something that are always present but aren't in anyway possible visible or notable. Thanks to the art of improvisation the nicest person can convey a holier than thou persona but possess thoughts of a conniving individual. This becomes difficult because we may call these people friends or even go as far as confiding in them. There may also be instances where we constantly by pass a person who comes off normal but possesses thoughts that could be life changing in a positive way, unfortunately there can also be those who we bypass that have potential life threatening thoughts.

If we look at many of the tragic past occurrences in the news we find that many deaths or even mass murders are considered to be tragic in nature. While I do believe that media labels many things as tragic as a way to lighten or diffuse a sad event. I also believe that whole concept of tragedy is people's inability to decipher the thoughts of others. Before any action or non action there are thoughts, and its those thoughts that we should fear because they are essential shots in the dark. Whether it be the tragic shootings in Virginia Tech or Columbine, there was a clear illustration of how vulnerable we are to the thoughts of others.

I personally am a person who is constantly thinking and over thinking. I believe there is a certain beauty to formulating ideas and thoughts in our mind but I look to illustrate and express them in ways that are verbal, artistic, or literal. I think when used right our thoughts and peoples inability can be fine. Our thoughts are unknown and there's a certain fear of the unknown that lead to mutual level of respect amongst individuals. Having respect for everyone is something that is often lacking and is often the basis for unexpected outburst from individuals. If we can learn to respect the thoughts of everyone we can experience an increased sense of comradeship amongst people.
