Amazon announced their new service, the Cloud Drive, which will allow users to upload music to their Amazon servers and play it anywhere, including on the web and Android phones. This is Amazon’s official entrance into the music streaming market.
Professor Baldwin mentioned "the cloud" many times in class where you can store your information and data. This is where the future of technology and information is headed, and it will be interesting and exciting to see how well Amazon's Cloud Drive actually does. Personally, I still like buying physical CDs and listening to them in my car or loading the music onto my iPod, but I can see myself storing my music on Amazon's Cloud Drive as a backup in the future.
Amazon is becoming a bigger and better organization every day. In addition to this cloud drive, they recently just announced their video streaming service for Prime members, similar to Netflix. Amazon could become a serious contender in the video streaming business if more people start joining Amazon Prime for the unlimited streaming rather than join Netflix. Amazon is one of my favorite websites and I am excited to see what they think of next.
