My parents Vs. my Boyfriend

so i have been dating my boyfriend for about a year and a half i love having him around and i can honestly say i could see myself married to him in the future <3 i admit sometimes he can be a bit childish but then again so can I. my parents still see me as their little girl who wasn't ever interested in boys (cuz i used to be kinda ugly back in the day >_<) so when i invite my Bf to go places with me they are annoyed only because i focus so much attention on him Vs. them. back in the day we'd go to the city for plays and such and it was just the rents, bothers and myself and i tented to interact with my parents more cuz my brothers were too busy goofin off. now i focus more on my Bf. he is an ony child and his parents love to have me around! they take me out to dinner and stuff all the time. they invite me to events and everything. no fuss. no problem. why can't my parents be like that seriously i am freaking 19 years old (in 26 days) and they still are acting like children. they should know by now how i feel about my Bf and that he is now one of the focuses of my life. they need to stop being sofa king selfish and let me go just a little bit. i already go away to school so letting me go is not a big for them but this one thing keeps them mad. ugh i can not wait until i can be free completely free!!

Caitlin Richards 35

I could actually use some comments on this post, if anyone would care to share. The questiopn I need answering to is ~ Should I tell?

I am almost broke, and I have almost spent all of my savings on insurance co-payments. If you read my last poem, they think it might be cancer, so thats some bull sha-nay-nay I have been dealing with. I haven't told anyone except 4 of my closest friends. In fact I go in for hopefully my last biopsy Saturday after our performance. I can't bring myself to tell my parents. I have burdened them enough throughout life and to be honest I've been to angry with them to let them care. My little sister called me from home to tell me that she over heard them talking divorce. I'm angry that they would consider that while she is the only one home and about to start high school in a new town with nobody around to be with her. I am at school, my brother is with his new wife in NC waiting to be deployed somewhere overseas. I hate my parents sometimes.
I love my mother, but I do not like her. She is a good human being, but not always a good mom. I don't feel like she deserves to know. My dad is a stressed human being, and it would break me if I gave him another thing to break him. I've been dealing with this all on my own since September, but depending on Saturday's results I wont be able to support this anymore. That sounds weird, I have to support a sickness I may or may not have. I don't know if I will ever tell them, maybe I'll just let it rock.

Another blog about my parents

You know I always wondered why my mom didn't do the cool flipping thing with the pan that you see in all the cooking shows. I watched a lot of Iron Chef and Food Network and it always looked so bad ass. When I came back from Spring Break, my mom told me she was going under the knife, to remove a tumor. At that time I didn't really think nothing of it, because I trusted modern technology and medicine. She told me it's nothing major so I was not too worried. She was going to the hospital on Wednesday and was going to stay there for two days. Tuesday night, she was too tired to cook dinner because she had to rest for her surgery. So I volunteered to cook. She already prepared the ingredients anyways.
When I was cooking, it occurred me that it was impossible for her to do the cool flipping thing that you see on TV simply because there was too much food. The weight of the pan was heavy. That's when I felt it. I was worried even if it was nothing major. No one in my family went through surgery before and I didn't know what to expect. She did so much for me and my family that it just made me feel like I just couldn't pay her back. As I cooked, I thought about the times that was a rebel and disrespected my parents to no end. It made me hate myself a bit, because even though I was this way, my parents continued to just push me further, with everything in their power, be that it was painful, or hard. Chinese parents are like this, and it is sad I could not be a Chinese child ingrained with filial piety and with the purpose in life to be successful. I don't know how I can repay my parents. I was always lax in terms of studying. I didn't get the grades that I should've and it just made me feel like I was undeserving of my parents' love.
Today when she came back from the hospital, she looked so frail. I didn't know what to say, but she looked at me and smiled. It hurt because I knew she was hurting. I poured her a cup of tea and helped her to the couch. I hope I can be a better son in the future.

Foul language...

Today I went with my boyfriend to his best guy friends house. They are both in High school and are soon to be college students in the fall! his friend has a sister who is a freshman in high school. They are fun and all but there is one thing which struck me as odd. they used alot and i mean A LOT of foul language in front of their parents. it was a bit harsh on the ears but it was their house and if they were allowed to use that language so be it. though they are 18 and 14 their parents treat them like young adults. now I was brought up to not curse in front of people in power positions and/or someone of authority (you know teachers, older family members, parents all that jazz). My parents often used to use 'curse words' in front of my brothers and I but we never considered using those words around them. when i was with friends i always use foul language from about 5th grade on and it just comes naturally even if the words are not used in a negative way. now that i am back in town for spring break i have almost re-learn not to swear in front of my parents. bad habits are hard to break but going to the friends house today made me re-consider how i should (or want to) act around my family. my parents often call me an Adult and frankly i believe that i should be treated as such. If i am upset of hurt i think i have the right to use foul language without having to endure a tongue lashing from mom and dad.

Thinking about it now I wonder if my parents will ever see me as a true adult. will it be the day they let me swear in front of them? or the day i graduate from college? move out? get married? when ever they decide i just hope it will be sooner then later. everyone needs to grow up and not be a child anymore.

What I Owe To My Parents

I have my parents to owe for everything that I have in life. For the majority of my life, I have always resented them for pushing me towards what I thought of as "unrealistic goals". I hated that they made me do things that I didn't want to do because it was for my "well-being". My parents showed me some tough love when I was younger and I often despised them to the point where I wanted to run away or get out of the house as quickly as possible.

Of course, it's hard to see the big picture sometimes especially when we're younger and only looking for immediate gratification. Looking back though, I am so grateful for all that they've provided me. My parents have been the key in my growth as a young adult. Throughout my years of teenage rebellion, where I've constantly fought with them, I discovered that my parents have only helped reinforce the morals that I've held.

They realized that I have more potential than I could ever imagine even it was something I couldn't recognize. When I used to tell them I couldn't do something because I lacked the inherent ability, my parents would punish me because they believed I could. My parents are true believers that hard work is essential to achieving anything you want. Anything that I failed at was because of the lack of work I was willing to put into it.

This winter break, my father pushed me to prep ahead for my Linear Algebra course that I previously failed. I was moved to tears and stress because I felt so hopeless, spending 5-6 hours everyday just doing math problems, learning the course material. I hated hearing about how my other friends were enjoying their breaks while I was trapped at home every day. I became somewhat depressed because I had been stripped of any freedom I had left. But, when the break was over, I didn't only learn the coursework, I had -mastered- a semester's worth of material in only a mere 3 weeks. I had done almost every problem in the book, something I still pride myself in accomplishing.

And it's all thanks to my parents. To me, they have given the world.

I owe my parents

As I was growing up, I wasn't exactly the greatest child that my parents could wish for. I too had the known all too well rebellious era brimming with developing teenage angst. I didn't like my family at all. Our ideals were too different. My parents wanted me to get good grades, I refused. My parents wanted me to go to the library, I stayed outside with my friends instead. I never really understood the meaning of family bonding.
But now it's different. I don't see my parents as parents, but more like other people. People I respect, and people who I am responsible for. I never understood how much pain my parents went through to get me to where I am. To pay for my college tuition with a "it's okay if you hate me , as long as you get good grades" facade. And it really hurts now when I thought of how bratty I was. I wish I could hit myself. I wish I could travel a few years into the past and hit myself. I would deserve it. But now I realize what I must do. I have to show my parents that their blood and sweat was not all for vain. That they have not raised a child who cannot show his gratefulness. That's why I'm trying as hard as I can in college, to one day make my parents proud. But I still can't tell them that yet. I will show them when I become successful.
