Unconscious Mistakes

My friend pointed out to me that I can't pronounce words that end in "th". I say "maf" instead of "ma-th" and "earf" instead of "earth". I honestly never realized and I wonder if I had been doing that all my life. English was my second language but I started Pre-k in the states. However, my parents didn't know English so they would constantly communicate with me in Chinese. Growing up I had a lot of trouble pronouncing words and writing good papers. Even now, my best subject isn't English but Math and Sciences (how stereotypical lol). I'm good at the subject I can't even pronounce right:P

Consider Growing Some Pretty Big "Attachments" !!

I just had lunch with a friend of mine who is a total door mat in her relationship. I needed to vent because she is completely ridiculous. I think it is fair to say that we all know at least one person who lets people walk all over him/her...like their boss, significant other, child, whoever...they simply lack assertiveness. I wonder how they got to this point in their life. Could it be innate? A lack of self-esteem/confidence? Temperament? Daddy Issues? What ever the cause may be. I think that these people in particular need special attention. They have the same needs as you and I, but are not as vocal about such needs. It's so easy for these people to get walked all over by loud mouths like myself. I see these "door mat" type relationships when a "Miss. Door Mat" meets "Mr. Walk all over" , not a good mix at all. And yet as is said "opposites attract", and thus you have situations like my lunch, where my friend sits and complains to the wrong person. So my friends out there in the cloud, I will end with saying if you or some one you know lacks assertiveness, I suggest growing some pretty big attachments.
