Last one for arson

last one! :

Then there are the unfortunate who do not intend to start any fires, yet they end up being arrested and charged for arson because of their indifference for fire safety. Such an example is Terry Barton, who is known for causing the Hayman Fire. Terry Barton, a forestry officer, was trying to start a fire inside a campfire ring by burning a love letter that was given to her ex-husband in an area where no fires were allowed to be made due to a recent drought. The fire, unfortunately, got out of control and lead to a wildfire that consumed four counties and burned almost 138,000 acres of land, destroying 133 houses, and other buildings. It resulted in the evacuation 5,340 people and the death of a lady, due to her asthma attacks from the smoke, and the death of 4 firefighters, whom got in a severe traffic accident as they rushed to the scene. Terry Barton was sentenced to 12 years in prison and was forced to reimburse the government of $14.6 million. However, in March 2008, Terry Barton was able to catch a lucky break and was sentenced again for 15 years of probation.
