How our society has chenged

In the early 20th century most families in the United States were satisfied with having a decent job, a good home for shelter and enough food to feed their families. But as time moved on people began want more, and suddenly having everything you needed wasn’t good enough for your average family, all people began to need were material things. Capitalism had taken over and the standard of living was rising by the day. “Greed has infected our society. It is the worst infection.” I feel like this quote explains transition most families went through from the modern American family to the post-modern American family where families now wanted to live a first class lifestyle. Our national role models changed from hard working citizens to becoming rich fast and having as much power as possible.
