I've gotten completely fed up with Windows. I've been using Windows XP on my netbook, and it's been alright. I do like some features of Windows 7, but just for the fact that it's Windows, drives me insane. Actually, the only feature I like about 7 is the automatically resizing of windows when you drag it to the left, right or top. I've been using Divvy for Mac which does the same thing except with keyboard shortcuts. Apparently there's a pay app that just came out for Mac that does the same thing as Windows 7.
I'm primarily a Mac user. I do like the operating system, I admit. It's well constructed, visually enticing, bold yet classic, ease of use... The whole Operating system is just better constructed overall. They don't crash as easily as Windows do. So yes, Thank You, Apple, for making a wonderful OS. You're prices are shit though. The film industry forces us to use Apples, which is a bit annoying. I've built myself a hackintosh, aka: building a PC and loading it with OSX. Technically, it's not really legal. But I got myself a computer Apple would charge $3500, for only $1300 (and that's including a 24" monitor) So yeah, I'd say I'm pretty happy with my computer.
Getting back to netbook. Just the goddamn Windows Updates, and OS that will always start to lag no matter how clean you keep the system just annoys me. I'm finally going back to my beloved Linux. I love open-source. I love being in control of my OS's functionalities. It's been too long that i've strayed away from Linux, and I could not be happier to be going back. Finally my life doesn't require me to ever have to use Windows again, with the exception of fixing Dad's computer that he constantly crashes. Currently downloading Ubuntu; then loading it onto a bootable USB drive; back up the little data I have here currently; and hello, Ubuntu netbook :)
