Let's Go Back

On the couch watching disney movies

Chillin with friends drinkin milk with cookies

Not on this planet, but dwelling on different worlds

Time doesn't matter, the earth doesn't spin it twirls

A year later you got some things to consider

The sweet cookies you had get bitter

Entertainment is reduced to girls and boos

Always on guard over your heart, its easy to lose

Looking into the distance, tryna keep your brain in tact

Waking up one morning realizing its love you lack

What happened to days we used to play

Whatever happened to that sand castle by the bay

Since when did growing up mean living down

Looking for the life in me, has yet to be found

I died a while ago, death is no longer the end, its a phase

I'm not sure about you, but I miss those days

I remember sitting on a bench watching the sunset

Friends on the left, family on the right

Knowing that somehow we'll last through the night

I remember impressing mom at age six

All I had to do was jump off the couch doing tricks

Wanted to be an astronaut, to fly in zero gravity, weighing one ounce

Not possible, I know but its the dream that counts

Those dreams today are killed by practical doubt

Dreams of the mad and adventurous have ventured down south

We grew up but in the process walked away

From a world of imagination to a world run by your pay

A humble house cat gone stray

We jumped on the right train but on the wrong track

The sun hasn't set yet, the sky isn't black

Theres a full moon tonight, lets regroup, wolfpack

Maybe theres still time, lets hold hands, lets go back

COLLEGE life

College life, is based around finding things. Atleast that's what I've learned so far. We as students are always moving, always finding. Wheres the homework, wheres the chemistry building, wheres the math learning center, where do I go to become part of a sports team, wheres the party, wheres the beer, etc. College is fueled by curiosity and question, our lives are both burdened by and privileged with a sense of independence. As we progress throughout college, and life for that matter, we become more and more of what we find. We are what we discover, and I feel that from the first day in college, that first step out of high school, we expanded our realm of opportunity by placing the power of decision making in our own hands. I feel like its from this subconscious drive that we learn the most from in our lives.
