After the Tank I wanted to go to Barnes and Noble to study a bit for my finals. As I was walking past Rockefeller Center, I saw St. Patrick’s Cathedral and I decided to go inside to say a quick prayer. The church was a touring spot for many tourists and people were going in and out of the church. St. Patrick’s Cathedral was a Roman Catholic Church. How the reverend preached was so different from my experiences with pastors. The reverend is usually an old man with a low monotone voice. I felt so out of place in that church even though I am Christian.
There was a bride and groom up on the alter and I was thinking, “Omgosh they are getting married now?! In a room full of strangers…” I don’t think I would prefer random strangers watching me get married in a public church. Anyway, before the bride and groom exchanged rings, they both lit a bigger candle together with two separate candles. I’m guessing this represented unity. It was so cute! This was the first time I’ve seen a wedding at a Catholic church. It wasn’t the most glamorous wedding but it was still beautiful in the sense that the couple would be starting a new life together.
