Some things listening to the blues taught me

Blues music has been part of the African-American culture for centuries dating back to slavery times. But it didn’t take its own form and become popular the early 1900’s. Blues was the symbol for how Africa Americans felt in America after slavery, during Jim Crow laws and with the Ku Klux Klan. Moreover because of the blues many talented African Americans were noticed for different things such as singing, art work, poems etc. Langston Hughes being one of the biggest poets of his time wrote plenty of blues poems. “The Weary Blues”, a Langston Hughes poem, is about a man playing songs on his piano. From the way the poem was written it sounded like this pianist had a lot of passion in their music. The pianist then begins to sing about
