Letter Pressing

Letterpress from Naomie Ross on Vimeo.

Who knew a simple instructional video about letter pressing can be filmed in such an aesthetic manner? The use of the vibrant colors, the detailed visuals of each process. In fact, it is the artistic beauty of this video that kinda distracts you from realizing that a process so simple requires such an arduous process that doesn't actually seem necessary. I mean, it's pretty easy to create a poster board with colored lettering. Who knew that such machinery and copper block letters were necessary just to create a simple sign or to give a simple message.
Wait. I actually just realized that this video was just a complete waste of time. It gave no information that I needed, or in fact anyone needs, but only was produced by the author for reasons that I hope to be behind their ideological term for "art." Other than that, Naomie Ross, you have tricked me into believing that this video meant something more. You have deceived me and for that, I hope that your intentions be foiled by someone more destructive, someone who actually has a pure motive to hurt your reputation. I bid you adieu.
