U.S.'s raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan few weeks ago that killed Osama Bin Laden has provoked an angry backlash from the Pakistani public and the Pakistani government. The main reason for this is because each nation-state is supposed to have the right to sovereignty and U.S. just going in like a bully and doing whatever they need to do upsets masses of people because it goes against ethics and principals. This killing of Osama Bin Laden seems very suspicious to say the least. They have not disclosed any raw proof of his killing. The one photograph that they released looked very doubtful to me - it just looked like any other photoshopped picture. Last week, the Pakistani parliament passed a resolution that "condemned the U.S. unilateral action in Abbotabad, which constitutes a violation of Pakistan's sovereignty."
To make matters worse, A U.S. helicopter exchanged fire with Pakistani troops near the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan today, resulting in injuries for two Pakistani soldiers. I hope this doesn't escalate further because Pakistan is the only muslim country to have nuclear weapons, and being a Pakistani (I grew up there) I know that Pakistan will do ANYTHING to protect its sovereignty, just like they did when they faced three wars with India.
