A view from a bridge, early in the morning, right before the dew sets in the grass. The sun dimly lit as the lake reflects swerves of light across the horizon. I remember the morning breeze running right passed me as I close my eyes. The mist settles at a distance, gently shrouding the buildings across the lake that ripples beneath me. A deep inhale fills my lungs with calmness, leading my body to enter a state of relief. This moment just seems so perfect. I can feel the mist and the breeze drift me away. It comes to an end with an exhale but starts another ten second 'perfect' moment. Yet, with these deep breaths, time doesn't seem to bother moving. It just feels like along with this moment of relaxation and this state of relief, escaping reality seems much simpler. I can feel stress and anger, my definition of reality, melting away, dipping into the lake as tensions flow far away. A mental picture taken, preserved for my runaway, leaves a distorted reality. My eyes gently open and there I stand, Merrimack River, Lawrence MA right in front of me. Welcome to my getaway.
