Hey! Dilemma! Currently have a 2nd gen 8GB iTouch, that I almost exclusively use for music. Occasionally I’ll put a few episodes of HIMYM on it when I know I’m going to need visual entertainment. I use the internet on it out of convenience when I don’t feel like getting my netbook or PC. I’ll be getting a smart phone (FINALLY, I’VE MISSED HAVING ONE SO MUCH) in a week or two, pending on the release date of the Samsung Droid Charge. Which means I’ll no longer depend on the Touch for internet whatsoever. I COULD then use the Touch as gaming device since it’s jailbroken and I have Gameboy and SNES emulators on it (but I know in a year or two once this whole Tablet processor war gets sorted out, I’ll be getting myself a tablet as netbook replacement/gaming device). Or I could give the Touch to my sister, who’s been eyeing it for quite some time. Also, the Touch is the last thing I have from my ex, which makes me want to get rid of it all together. At the same time, i’ve grown so accustomed to it, since it’s been a part of me for close to three years.
So. The question is, do i just throw $50 to get a cheap Shuffle or spend $180 to get a Nano? For $50 I get a mere 2GB, which is joke to me. I change my music on the Touch every other week because I have so much music to go through, along with music ADD. Also, majority of my music is downloaded at 320kbps, and I won’t lessen the quality to 192 just to get more songs. So 2GB makes me a little nervous. Also, the lack of screen means I can’t pick what song I want to listen to, which may drive me a little nuts. But I mean, it’s just for my work outs, right….?
BUT. If i spend $180 on a Nano, I’d be getting a nice 16GB of memory. And it has a screen, so i can pick my tracks. 16GB of space is twice as much as my Touch, so it’ll completely replace my need for the Touch (as opposed to the Shuffle, which I would still want to keep my Touch as my main music device).
IDEALLY, I want Apple to bring back the 3rd Generation Nano shape (the square one with screen and wheel) and crank it up to 16GB. Rumor of 7th Generation Nano that’s due in September seems to be the same as the current Nano plus a fucking camera, which I deem very useless. :( Anyone want to sell me their old 3rd Gen 8GB Nano?
Okay, fine; not going to lie. I’m leaning towards spending the extra money for the 16GB Nano, I just need someone to agree.
