cultlike following and be bold

Law 27

Play on People’s Need to Believe to Create a Cultlike Following

People have an overwhelming desire to believe in something. Become the focal point of such desire by offering them a cause, a new faith to follow. Keep your words vague but full of promise; emphasize enthusiasm over rationality and clear thinking. Give your new disciples rituals to perform, ask them to make sacrifices on your behalf. In the absence of organized religion and grand causes, your new belief system will bring you untold power.

Lol. This reminds me of a special I saw on TV about cults. But these weren't your typical cults..one of them was a yoga cult and people really followed it. So give people something to believe in, something you can control and uphold and they will follow you. Ok I can see that but how strong does this "cult" have to be to overtake their lives so completely? As I'm writing this I remember the organic chemistry final that's been on my mind for the past couple months... It's not something i really like but I do it almost on autopilot now.

Law 28

Enter Action with Boldness

If you are unsure of a course of action, do not attempt it. Your doubts and hesitations will infect your execution. Timidity is dangerous: Better to enter with boldness. Any mistakes you commit through audacity are easily corrected with more audacity. Everyone admires the bold; no one honors the timid.

I can see this making a lot of sense. I'd rather follow someone that is bold and his actions are almost forceful. If someone is making major decisions and they seem closed off and timid... I'd be terrified. They better be sure of themselves. Since I'm premed I have to practically tattoo this on me somehow somewhere. People get nervous when you seem unsure.. Especially when it comes to your health. Asking for help is ok but if you really seem timid... Well I would never go to a doctor like that, maybe I just have higher standards because I'm around doctors and I hear about them all the time.
