Law 23
Concentrate Your Forces
Conserve your forces and energies by keeping them concentrated at their strongest point. You gain more by finding a rich mine and mining it deeper, than by flitting from one shallow mine to another – intensity defeats extensity every time. When looking for sources of power to elevate you, find the one key patron, the fat cow who will give you milk for a long time to come.
Milking cows huh. Ok it's understandable that finding a good source of resources instead of many not so good ones would have a greater effect. Hopefully you'll have that security and there is a greater chance you will have access to whatever you need for a longer period of time.
Law 24
Play the Perfect Courtier
The perfect courtier thrives in a world where everything revolves around power and political dexterity. He has mastered the art of indirection; he flatters, yields to superiors, and asserts power over others in the most oblique and graceful manner. Learn and apply the laws of courtiership and there will be no limit to how far you can rise in the court.
I guess a little flattery will get you anywhere. That must have been one slick time. Everything goes on behind closed doors and no one really knows what someone's true intention is. This ties back to other laws and puts them together. For some reason Anne Boleyn comes to mind. After reading The Boleyn Girls I really could imagine how much deception went on. But in the end, they did get things done... Until it backfired of course and she was decapitated... Karma maybe? I believe in that.
