My Favorite misican

When I first started listening to music, rapper, Nas was one of the few rappers who really stood out to me. I remember him rapping about trying to live life positive as a kid and still until this day he's still rapping and staying relevant in our society.
Throughout his music career Nas has been known for putting positive messages behind his songs. Nas addresses various issues that go on in the black community such as poverty, rape, etc. He one of the few artist that we hear today that actually makes songs encouraging children to go to school and get an education, instead of hanging on the streets. He referred to this in his “I Can.” This song was such a big hit when it came out because of the strong positive message behind it. At this time in 2002 a lot “gangster rap” was being listened to and not to many positives came out of it. In this song Nas talks to kids about growing up and living out there dreams and never settling for less.
