This was written awhile ago in my online journal, and im just posting it now...so even though Tuesday night has not happened yet, this was a past Tuesday night.

Its the afternoon after Tuesday night @ UCafe and I feel great. Set up an appointment with my Math Prof who also goes to my chuch, so hopefully he'll grade me like the angel that I am. other than math giving me the usual hell that it is, I'm really bustin ass this semester with the rest of my grades. Due to all the drama with "screwed" last semester, my grades were dismal, and thats not an excuse. I feel like I failed myself and I'm not okay with that. Me & this bitch called GPA are gonna battle for awhile, I Will Be Victorious. Probably switching my major to History.

I just spent another 200 @ the bookstore, on a smattering of subjects, none of them for my classes. Books, Music, and Movies are a bit of a high for me- Scratch that, I think culture is a high and I find these to be the best mediums to to experience it, besides living obviously.

Last night me and 2 other rooks went to Ucafe, our campus bar, and we had a blast. I can see how it gets tiring for the older people who no longer go, but we had fun dancing& drinking& mingling. K & Dre are mad fun to hang out with, all the guy vet rugby players were there too, along wihth some other campus comrades. It was great.

Romeo and Juliet

I saw a remake of Romeo and Juliet over the weekend. It was directed by Baz Luhrmann. It starred Leonardo DiCaprio and Claire Danes as the star crossed lovers. It kept the original text, and this was one of the main things I liked about the movie. It took place in Verona Beach, something I found funny (being that the play is set in Verona, Italy). I really liked Mercutio's character, played by Harold Perrineau, he was very psychotic. I think that both DiCaprio and Danes played Romeo and Juliet beautifully. Most old plays that are adapted to the big screen come out horrible, but this movie definitely does not.
My favorite scene in the movie is when Romeo and Juliet first meet. They are staring at one another through a fish tank. Meanwhile there is this song playing that fits the scene beautifully. The song itself was a great song. The scene continues as Romeo proclaims his feelings to Juliet and the run around a mansion, sneaking into elevators, and eventually getting separated. The whole time this scene is going on, the song changes pace to match the two lovers.

Human Centipede

I've recently watched the film "Human Centipede." I'm not sure if many people have seen it, it is a Dutch film. Personally, I decided to watch this film because the title raises questions. "Human Centipede?" What could that possibly mean? I know what a centipede looks like, but a human centipede sounds really odd. The film starts off with two American teens touring Europe. On one specific night they decide to go to a party, and their car breaks down in the woods. They walk around to get help and stumble upon Josef Mengele's residence. He strongly dislikes other humans, but allows them to come inside. The girls never leave the house, and fall victim to his dastardly deed.
Most people find this film scary and somewhat disturbing. Personally, I found this film to be very interesting; It let you dive into a sick man's mind. There are also parts in the film where the victims are faced with moral conflicts. One of the girls has the choice of fleeing without her friend, or going back for her friend and possibly giving up the chance of freedom. This made me think, in that situation who would I go back for? If it were me and someone I cared about (i.e. my girlfriend, my brother, my mother), would I go back? The actor playing the deranged doctor plays his part beautifully. He, alone, makes the film the horrifying adventure, that it is. I would definitely recommend anyone who is into horror, or foreign films to watch this. It is a very good movie, and will leave you with questions that may possibly never be answered.

What's good Netflix?

you ever just sit down and find 'old' movies on netflix? i say old in quotes because all of the 'old movies i want to watch are from the 90's and 2000's lol. I've been doing that just about all day. I don't know what it is about movies that make me feel good and bad all in the same time. i close my eyes and sometimes i actually wish that i was in the movie far away from here. it's not like i don't like where i am in life it's just i want a change of scenery, you know? to be back in the 50's or the 60's living life day to day experiencing something different would be amazing. weekends on campus are boring and this is all i really care to do. maybe practice on my suitemate's keyboard but after struggling with the chords that my left hand can never seem to get right, this is what i resort to. i'm not one of those sappy 'watching Titanic because i want to cry' movie people, that is just pathetic.

one thing that I keep getting pissed off about is the fact that "classics" like finding Nemo and toy story arn't on netflix. there are other good movies that i enjoy but when i am craving a good old childhood favorite they're not on there *sigh*. it really makes my head spin knowing that some of the movies i have looked up have been out on DVD for years but somehow netflix couldn't put them up huh?? what's really good netflix??? in this day and age is it that hard to upload something?? Whatever i guess that's what I for mooching off of my suitemates netflix account :3 hehehe
