My dreams

Lately I have been having extensive long real- like dreams. Somethings I even dream about text message conversations and later on i have to check my phone to see if they really happened. Its really strange. One time I checked my phone to see if a text message really occured a week later and it turns out it did. It kinda scares me that I am not seperated reality vs. dreams very well as far as text messaging goes. I wonder if thats normal. I know that alot of times people dream about bizarre things and made up people that they have never consciously seen before. I havent had a dream like that in a while I have been dreaming about fights with my boyfriend or mom and talks with my friends. Alot of times I even dream about work. I dream that I have 4 tables waiting for their food yelling and I cant get it to them. I came to the conclusion that I dream about work when I am stressed..but I am not stressed about work. I just manifest my stress into a stressful dream about a bad night at work.
Alot of people would say its normal but I have been dreaming ever night and I used to never remember my dreams.
One theory suggests that dreams serve as a means for cleansing and release. During the day, we may hold back our feelings and repress our anger. Thus dreams serve as a safe outlet for us to release our negative emotions. Another theory says that dreams is a biologically necessary aspect of sleep. Research has shown that people who were prevented from entering the dream state and woken up before they can dream were more easily irritated, jittery, and performed far below average.
So maybe it is a good thing afterall. I think I just have alot more going on right now then I did before

Dreams Beyond the grave

I have really tried to stare at my hands as a trigger and force myself to remember my dreams but I never remember them when I wake up. I am starting to think that either I dont dream or I am so tired that I am sound asleep. Either way, I got nothing LOL.

I can share a weird dream experience my Mother and Aunt have had though...
About 1 week after my great grandmother died, my mother had a dream that the phone was ringing, in her dream she looks at the clock and it's 3:05am, she runs downstairs and answers the phone and its her grandmother who says to her "You didn't get my horseshoe of roses". The next night she has the dream again only this time it's at 4:30am when she looks at the clock in her dream.

The next day she is speaking to her mother (my grandmother) on the phone and tells her about this dream she had the past two nights and how it seemed so real and yet so weird but had no idea what it meant. It was then that my grandmother told her that her sister (my aunt) had the exact same dream only in my aunts dream the clock read 3:06 and 4:31 respectively. The dreams continued for the next two nights.

Still they had no idea what it meant or why. Until they told my uncle, he said that he remembered as a young boy, my great grandmother took him to the horse races and as they crowned the winner with a horseshoe of roses she told him that when she died she wanted a horseshoe of roses placed on her grave. He had actually thought about it briefly when she passed away but dismissed it. He was young at the time and he felt he didn't want to decorate her grave like a horse, so he dismissed it and never mentioned it to anyone.

Needless to say, the next day my great grandmother had a HUGE horseshoe of roses on her grave and neither has dreamed of my great grandmother since that time.

Dreams vs Reality

At what point to we determine dreams from reality? I think dreams reflect alot on what a person is going through. My family and friends think that I'm crazy for believing alot of what happens in crazy dreams. I really feel like there is a lot of truth behind dreams. Sometimes they really don't make sense if you think about them but everything your mind is thinking (dreaming) must come from someplace whether you noticed or experienced something during the day and didn't even realize it when it happened. Your mind unconsciously remembers things that you don't even realize and that can reflect in dreams.
How many times do you realize that you absolutely cannot fall asleep because you're laying there for hours thinking about all the things that are going on in your life or thinking up situations that are not real? When you think about things a long time before you fall asleep, you tend to not dream. However, when I fall asleep as soon as I lay down, I notice that I have lots of dreams that night. I think that when your mind doesn't go through the meltdown before you fall asleep, it will automatically do it as a dream or a nightmare.
The other night I had this crazy dream that my boyfriend was into another girl and cheated on me. I remembered this particular girl but I couldn't remember where she was from. I guess I unconsciously picked up on it one night that we were out. Anyway, I woke up thinking of "how crazy and make belief" the dream was. That same day, I received a PICTURE MESSAGE of my boyfriend with another girl, that very one from my dream. At first I was shocked, totally blown away at the whole thing. I couldn't believe that this dream was turning into reality, was it a hint? My boyfriend claimed otherwise, but I had the hard evidence on my phone and absolutely do not put up with bullcrap. Anyway, you can say that relationship ended pretty fast.
