Billy Elliot

When I watched first time, I was a younger, so I did not remember the story clearly.
"Billy Elliot" (2000) is a story about a boy who wants to be a dancer, and finally he becomes principal!!

This time, when I watched this story, I cried because the story was really touched for me. Actually, I like family story, and in this story, the story depicts about family issues as well. At first, the father does not accept what Billy wants to do. However, when he saw Billy's dance, he decides to support him. Billy's brother is also the same situation as his father.

Usually parents have some desire to their children. I guess my parents also have their opinion about education for their children. However, my parents never insist to me and my siblings, and just they said that we can do whatever we want to do. When I was a younger, I thought that is normal thing because my life is not their life.
However, now I can feel their love toward us.

When I watched this movie this time, I just remind my family who lives far from me now. and for my parents, I want to say 'Thank you very much" sending me to another country for study.

As I know, this show is on Broadway now, so if I have a chance I want to see this!!

The TANK

Today was the day for the final!!
I woke up around 6am, then took a train@7:17am...
I am a night person, so for me, it was really early...
When I took a train, I could not see any classmates, so I was kind of wondering that there were some classmates in the train.

When I arrived@Penn station, I finally met some of my classmates, and I ate a breakfast together. It was 9:30am, but it already past 3 hours after I woke up!!! I could not imagine about it.

When I get the TANK, so many students were in there, and they already started rehearsal.
I was one of actors, so I practiced for my story a bit.

Today, I was a bit nervous, but I guess I did my best with my partner!

Life is Beautiful

"Life is Beautiful" (1997) is Italian film about Guido Orefice, Jewish Italian, and his family.
The setting of story is Italy under the control of Nazi. Guido falls in love with Dora, school teacher, when one first sees. And they get marriage, then Giosuѐ, their son, was born. They are living peacefully. However, Italy becomes under the control of Nazi, and Guido's family was caught by Nazi as well. Giosuѐ is just a child; therefore, Guido tries to hide the fact what is happening to them, and he tells a lie for his son to give a relief.

When the movie is started, it seems like comedy. My friend told me that this movie is really touched, so I was a little confused. However, when I realized that this is sad story as the story progressed.
As I mentioned, the story is sad, but it is not only sad, also it is heartwarming tale of love.
Even the family has really hard situation, the father, Guido, never forget to sense of humor for his family.
Guido does not want his son to know about their worst situation; therefore, he keeps to tell a lie, and he tries to teach his son how the life is beautiful.
The story was really touched. I love it!!!

Dead Poets Society

"Dead Poets Society" (1989) is film about an all-boys preparatory school. The school has so many strict rules that the student cannot fight against to the school. Even parents give too much pressure to their children to be a great person.
One day, new English teacher, John Keating comes to school, and he tries to teach what the most important to their life. At first, students feel that he is very wired teacher because he tells them that call him "O captain, My captain". and teacher Keating tells his students about "Dead Ports Society" that he was instrumental and holding session in a small cave outside school grounds. Through this activity, children start to think what they really want to do.

This story is a sad story because one of students kill himself to escape from his situation. However, through the movie, the audiences can rethink about what their life is.

Actually, when I was a middle and high school student, I had kind of similar situation. My school had lots of rules, and most of the students complained about their school life. Some students tries to quite the school, but the reason why I could stand the situation was my friends. We usually complained together, and we tried to enjoy our life because we knew that we only have one life.
This movie reminds me my school life when I was a younger.

The Blind Side

My friends suggest me to watch "The Blind Side" (2009).
It is based on real story of Micheal Oher (big mike), belonging to Baltimore Ravens of the NFL.
He grows up in really bad situation, so he does not have any education even he does not have a house where he lives. His parents were devoted when he was a younger.
One day, Leigh Anne Tuohy, a white woman, finds big mike in rainy day. and she realized that he does not have house to live even he is just 17 years old. SJ, Leigh's son, is familiar with big mike; therefore, Leigh decides to be Mike's adapted mother.

Through this story, I rethink what is family, and I really touched with this story. Even the situation is much better than before, still there is segregation in USA. On the other hand, there is a person who is like Leigh as well.
She already has two children, but she tries to save big Mike's life, and she really did her BEST. And big Mike also tries to return her goodwill.
At first, I did not know that this story is based on real story, but when I knew it, I was more touched the story. And I decide that I should be kind to anybody.

Dorian Gray

The Picture of Dorian Gray is written by Oscar Wilde in 1890.
and I saw the movie "Dorian Gray" (2009) recently.
The story is about a young beautiful man, Dorian Gray. An artist feels fabulously interested in Dorian's beauty, and he draws Dorian's portrait. Then Dorian hopes that the picture the portrait would grow old instead of him. And his dream comes true. He was innocence before, but his mind is getting ugly, and he does whatever he wants. He keeps his youth and beauty. On the other hand, the portrait is getting older and ugly more and more...

This movie shows that tragedy of Dorian Gray, and people's weak mind.
I guess aging is kind of eternal theme for human especially women. However, nobody can escape from "aging", and if they never get older that is also really wired and scary like Dorian in the movie.
Moreover, through this story, I rethink about desire and deformation of human. Everybody has their own desire, and they really wish to have what they want. However, to reach at their dream, effort is required. That is the most important thing!!
